Most Precious Memories

Vintage Mother's Day Card

Vintage Mother's Day Card Verse

My thoughts of Mama are mine today, and not to be shared, so I offer the sentiments of this vintage Mother's Day card from the early 1900's to all those whose mothers have left their earthly toils.

Whether near or far ... alive or not ... our mother's faces always are a part of us, never to be forgotten. They are special people whom we can never replace.

Not only are their faces always a part of us, so are their voices, often coming out of our own mouths!

We had a very quiet day, Chana, but I did get to talk to both our daughters for a long time. I hope you had a wonderful day, too. I feel Mama's love every day, and count myself blessed and fortunate to have had such a good woman for my mother.

I only hear my mother's voice in dreams, that is unless I listen to a few tape recordings I made shortly before she died. I find those much too difficult to listen too, even though it is really her voice. I can hear the pain and illness there. But once in a great while I need to hear them ... sometimes it helps.
