Burned Yellow Musical Pony

I'm going to break from my usual posting habit to tell you about a lady who has been searching desperately for a replacement for a stuffed yellow musical pony that was burned up in a house fire in 1997. It was all I could do to keep from crying, just thinking about how much this toy must mean to her to keep looking for it so desperately for so many years.

I'm hoping to spread the word about her search as far across the Internet as I possibly can, so would you please read her story on our Plush Memories blog? If you can add any information about the toy, that would be great! Otherwise, would you please post something on your blog, similar to this, linking back to her request?

(If you use tags, would you please use this tag?)

Hi! Thanks for the comments and the vote! I love your site, it reminds me of the magazine "Reminiscence" which, if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend. I think you would love it. It's full of wonderful stories and photos from readers, mostly from the 30's, 40's and 50's. There's a section like your blog for people looking for lost items or who have items needing identifying. Talk to you soon!

I have read that magazine a few times, Maritza, and you're right! Maybe subliminaly that's where the idea for our blogs came from.

Plus, we've just always been interested in old things, and the more I read people's journal blogs, the more I realized I was an "old thing" who had some unique memories to share! ROTFL hehehe

Looking forward to seeing you here again soon.

i hope this lady finds what she is looking for...

don't know what i do if i lost my Carlitos monkey...or my son's teddy who is actually a bear.

good luck to her.

I'd love to be able to help her in some small way, Chana. If we could just get enough people posting about this, with the tag (so Google will pick it up) someone's bound to recognize the pony and still have one in a collection, particularly if it's a GUND.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read the post, Lil' Duck Duck! I wish we had it, too! We have over 500 plush animals and dolls stored away for sale, but we don't have anything that fits that description.

I'm sure a lot of people are in the same shape you're in, Anonymous! If you know anything about what your friend collects or what their interests are, you might be able to find something collectible online at a place like eBay that would please them. Of course, we'd love for you to buy from us at dirtybutter.com!
